Gnu Books has been selling comic books since we opened a store in Ajax, Ontario in 1984. Before we had a store, we sold comics from 1978 in the parking lot at Sheridan Mall on Sundays. When the flea market became so popular that it needed to expand to an interior space within the Mall, we were located by the entrance to the cinema until 1983 when the Sheridan Mall changed ownership and evicted the flea market and later had to compensate the flea market operators with a building on Brock Street just north of the 401. In 2003, the Flea Market was once again evicted and compensated with the current Pickering Flea Market location.
